Diaconate Worship & Christian Education

Adult Sunday School Class

Pastor Jeff is leading a 16-week series, “A Progressive Look at Revelation.” The Book of

Revelation is a difficult book to read and understand for most people. Come join us

Sundays at 10 if you’re curious or looking for clarity and understanding.

Lent and Easter Events and Information

Be sure to mark March 28 on your calendar! Our children’s Easter Egg Hunt will be at 2pm. We are collecting small toys and candy to fill eggs with. There is a box in the Fellowship Hall for donations.

Palm Sunday is March 29. Come celebrate Jesus' triumphant entry into Jerusalem.

April 2 is Maundy Thursday and we will have our evening soup and salad dinner and service as we commemorate Jesus’ last supper with his disciples.

April 5 is Easter Sunday. We will have two services on Easter; a 7am Sunrise Service and our regular 11am service. Come join us as we celebrate Christ’s resurrection!

Diaconate Mission and Caring

Annual Special Offerings at DLABC, including American Baptist Churches USA

Every year DLABC very generously supports 4 special offerings held roughly every quarter, that are organized and promoted by the American Baptist Churches U.S.A. (ABC USA). The offerings are to support specific mission, education and relief efforts. And several other extra offerings are supported, for Church World Service (CWS) Blankets and the CWS CROP walk.

A short description of each these offerings and the dates planned in 2026 are provided following.

Church World Service (CWS) Blankets, 8 February

This is to provide blankets and general emergency relief supplies and support through Church World Service, for disasters worldwide. Thanks to the DLABC team who did a great skit about this offering, during the service on 8 February!

America for Christ, 30 March

Is an annual American Baptist Home Mission (ABHMS) event, that supports ministries in the U.S. and Puerto Rico, focusing on evangelism, children, disaster relief, and social justice and support. Two-thirds of funds support national US ministries and one-third support ABC Ohio ministries.

One Great Hour of Sharing (OGHS), 28 June

It is a major ecumenical offering supported by up to nine denominations including ABC USA, focused on international humanitarian disaster recovery and development projects, and includes refugee relief. These offerings are sometimes designated for specific disaster effects; e.g. hurricanes and other natural disasters.

World Mission Offering (WMO), 13 September

Generally, supports international missionaries and global ministry partners. This fund is

managed by the ABC USA World Relief and General Ministry boards.

CWS CROP Hunger Walk, 11 October

A nationwide and local area event sponsored by Church World Service, to provide funds toward ending hunger and poverty in the U.S. and around the world.

Retired Ministers and Missionaries Offering (RMMO), 13 December

This is a special offering that provides “thank-you” checks to eligible retired ministers and missionaries who have devoted more than 15 years of service. This is the only retirement benefit from ABC USA that these retirees can draw upon, as ABC USA does not have a pension plan for them. DLABC has been blessed for many years with retired ministers in our congregation. And this offering is our main way of saying “thanks” to them for their devoted service.

Vision Committee

On February 8th, the church voted to dually align with the Cooperative Baptist Association (CBF) and American Baptist Churches (ABC). This is an exciting next step for our church, as CBF has a lot of resources, support, and a network of people that we can be a part of.

ABWM

110 care bags were prepared and delivered for residents at Oaks of West Kettering.
