ABWM - American Baptist Women's Ministries

At our Sept. meeting the women of DLABC reviewed ministry projects and for 2025-2026

adopted:

  • Alliance Stamp Ministry - Ft. Myers FL; at end of August 2025, $26,000 was generated this year in support of publishing Sunday School materials in Spanish. The group is working on earning their second million dollars.

  • Church World Service - We support CROP walk in Dayton Oct. 12; one half of monies collected support the Dayton Foodbank.

  • Dayton Christian Center - we have been collecting items requested from ABW of Ohio White Cross program. Thanks to those who supported this project.

  • Lions Club of America -recently we turned in 39 pairs of glasses for use.

  • Mercy Manor - continue to support this ministry with household needs and financial

support.

  • Matthew 25 Ministries - donated clean amber pill bottles.

  • Oaks of West Kettering - again provide valentine treat bags; we will meet Feb. 12,

2026 to prepare bags.

  • Project Read - now operated by Goodwill. Books are sold and monies given for

literacy projects.

  • Recycle - In Fellowship Hall we collect soda cans, plastic containers. Office collects

paper

  • Ronald McDonald House - collect soda flip tabs to donate. Last spring we donated

4.5 lb at Tab-a-pull-ooza

  • Southdale Elementary - now support through Kettering Neighborhood Bridges; items as needed

Items for these projects can be donated in Giving Area of Fellowship Hall

  • We will support Bill and Ann Clemmer (ABC missionaries to Gomer), Mark Samuel and Yvonne Watkins (Neighborhood ministries missionaries), Susan Nicholson (ABW of Ohio Scholarship student). Funds to support these people can be donated to DLABC treasurer Joyce Kelley.

Crop Walk

We are participating in the Dayton CROP Hunger walk on Sunday October 12 at Shiloh Church at 5300 Philadelphia Dr. Folks gather at 1:00 p.m. and walk begins at 1:30. This walk provides life saving support, emergency food sources, seeds, tools and programs that help feed families in crisis. This year's theme is Walk, Give, Change the World. CROP Walk is a 55 year Church World Service movement across 500 communities. The

Dayton Walk donates 25% of every $ to the Dayton Foodbank. Foodbanks across the US have lost so much aid from the Federal Govt. Our foodbank can use all that is donated. Every step and every donation helps end hunger. You can use the envelopes provided at Dorothy Lane or you can go on line and find our Dorothy Lane team and donate there. You can walk by getting a walker envelope for donations or an envelope for your donation and not walk. We welcome all support. Thank You.

collaboration with Kettering Pride. The Dayton Dragons will be there along with

Access to Excess. Please let Connie, Susan, or Michael know if you will be able

to help with this event!

Sunday School begins October 6th at 10:00am over Monsters in the Bible.
