Christmas ornament for John Paul Haugan and bride

As is our custom, for all who grow up in our church when they are married, we send Christmas ornaments for their first Christmas. If you wish to participate, please wrap your ornament in tissue paper and attach your name. There is a box in the Giving Center in Fellowship Hall for ornaments. Please put your gift ornaments in the designated box by November 30 so these can be mailed to John and his bride. Thank you. If you would like to send a card or gift, his address is on the bulletin board in Fellowship Hall.

Save the date On Thursday, December 11, 6:00 pm, our ladies will meet at the home of Judy Teeters for our Christmas party. Bring two gifts for our shut in women and two for our men. Also, bring a white elephant gift for fun.

The Church Women United Christmas party will be Saturday, Dec. 6 at 1:30 p.m. at MCL Restaurant in Kettering. Fellowship and games are planned.

Constitution Voting

We are voting on the proposed changes to the constitution as soon as possible. After reviewing the changes with the congregation, the congregation made some further suggestions that the constitution committee took into account. This delayed the vote by a couple weeks. The vote has continued to be postponed because we need a quorum of two-thirds our active members present to hold the vote. We have been checking each week, but due to vacations and illnesses we have not had a quorum yet. We will hold the vote as soon as possible, but it has been delayed becaus we want to make sure we are following the proper procedures.

Christian Education

Thanks to all who helped, contributed to, and attended the trunk or treat! We had

hot dogs, crafts and 17 trunks passing out candy. There was representation from the Dayton Dragons, and Badass Bulldog Rescue. Access to Excess gave away free produce and other foods to families who attended. It was such a wonderful community gathering

filled with joy and love. We could not have done it without the help and support

of the Kettering Ohio Pride Coalition. We look forward to doing it again next year!

Diaconate Worship

We have our advent devotionals, and they will be available on November 23rd. Hanging of the Greens will be after worship on November 30th. Please join us as we decorate the Sanctuary, the Narthex, and the Fellowship Hall for Christmas.

If you would like to light the advent wreath or do a reading, please see Linda Emmons. Plans for a church Christmas Party are yet to come, but will be announced as soon as we know.

Mark your calendars for our Candle Light Christmas Eve service will be on Dec. 24th at 7pm.

Dorothy Lane Stitchers

All Are Welcome! Love handwork? Join the Dorothy Lane Stichers, a friendly group of

needleworkers who meet most Mondays from 5-7 p.m. at Dorothy Lane Church. Whether you enjoy quilting, embroidery, cross-stitch, or other forms of hand stitching, you’ll find good conversion, creative inspiration, and a welcoming community. All skill levels welcome!

Annual Meeting

Our annual meeting and Thanksgiving dinner will be held after church on Sunday November 23rd. This will be a carry-in dinner. Church members may vote on the church budget and proposed nominations for boards and committees. Please see Connie Sinks if you are interested in serving on a board or committee next year!
