Thank you to everyone who supported our Church World Service Blanket Sunday Offering. We sent $317.00 to CWS. This amount will help many in need during flooding, tornados and war.

Diaconate Worship & Christian Education

Thanks to everyone who helped with the Easter Egg hunt! We hid thousands of eggs and had dozens of children and families come to find them. It was a wonderful event to celebrate with the community.

Diaconate Mission and Caring

House of Mercy

In 1992, women from Church Women United in Greater Dayton founded Mercy Manor.

Initially it provided a home for women recovering from alcoholism or drug addiction. They have expanded the mission to women who are struggling with mental health, homelessness and substance abuse. Currently ten women are living in the house on Grosvenor Ave. in West Dayton. But the question is “How much longer can they live there?” Without an influx of funds, the house will need to close by June. Women in CWU (Church Women United) in Greater Dayton started this ministry. There has not been a fundraiser for several years but churches and individuals can help now with contributions. New Executive director Beverly Perry, RN, is working with local

foundations and organizations to get contributions.

Several members from our church have been on the board over the years, including Ernie Keucher and Janet Mayo. If you would like to make a donation for Mercy Manor, you can put it in the offering in an envelope and mark it Mercy Manor or mail it to the church. Make checks payable to Dorothy Lane American Baptist Church and we will make sure it gets to Mercy Manor. Thank you!
