Giving Thanks
“Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever!" Psalm 107:1
As the colder months approach, we take time to think about all we are grateful for. Outside may seem cold and gray, but we keep warm surrounded by love and kindness.
This month, as we have our Christmas Bazaar and prepare for the upcoming year with our annual meeting/Thanksgiving dinner, remember to take time to be thankful for all that God has provided, and the people who have touched our lives.

American Baptist Women’s Ministry
Thank you to all who contributed to CROP Walk. Our church turned in $270 on October 8. If you would like a Church World Service receipt, please see Jerri Wood.
SAVE THE DATE –On Sunday December 9, our own Steve Boggs (who is not only DLABC custodian but also serves Shiloh) will be presenting his Shiloh Church Family Karaoke with his own selection of Christmas songs. Please let Steve know if you plan to attend so he can sign you up. The event is $10 admission and bring a commercially-produced dessert or snack to share with 8 people.
Champions for Youth – The annual Daybreak fundraising event will be Thursday November 2. You can make a reservation for breakfast (8-9) or luncheon (noon-1). The event will be held at Mandalay Banquet Center at 2700 E. River Rd. Admission is free but you will be asked to consider making a donation during the program. Daybreak youth will be sharing about how Daybreak has helped them.
Library News

Church Women United World Community Day Join in fellowship at First Baptist Dayton on November 4, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. for World Community Day Celebration. Light refreshments will be served. No Reservation is necessary.
DLABC Men’s Fellowship The men’s fellowship meets for lunch at 11:15 am on the 2nd Friday of each month, except for December this year. For November this will be on Nov 10. The location starting in November will be Bob Evans at 1850 East Dorothy Lane, Kettering OH; which is across from Delco Park and near a Goodwill store.
Diaconate Caring and Missions Board Bev will do shoe box ministry starting Sunday October 22 till Sunday November 12th. Shipping: $10.00. See Bev for preprinted boxes and labels. If you are unable to fill a box please consider making a donation to cover shipping costs.

Thanks to everyone that came for our annual Halloween Party! We had costumes, pumpkin carving and painting, food and fellowship.
Our Kids’ Connection will wrap up its first unit (Fruits of the Spirit) this month. The next unit is Noah’s Ark. If you are interested in teaching please see Connie Sinks, Susan Sinks, Megan Farnham, or Mo Horn.
